Please Join McLane in Making a Donation to the Japanese Tsunami Relief Fund
The 8.9 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck the northern Pacific coast of Japan on Friday, March 11 has had a devastating impact on the country. Sadly, many of Japan’s residents are now left without homes, possessions, and in many cases, are dealing with the heartbreaking loss of loved ones. In an effort to help in some small way, the Consortium for Ocean Leadership has set up a relief fund for the Japanese ocean science community, with the proceeds going directly to Japanese ocean science universities and organizations.
Our Japanese counterparts need our assistance in a time when the infrastructure for ocean sciences has been significantly damaged. Because of this, and at the request of many of you, Ocean Leadership has created the Japanese Tsunami Relief Fund in conjunction with our bank, SunTrust.
Donations can be made by check.
- Make the check out to the “Japanese Tsunami Relief Fund.”
- Send the check to the attention of Tammy Hancock at The Consortium for Ocean Leadership:
Every little bit will assist our ocean science colleagues in getting back on their feet and will, of course, be much appreciated.
If you have any questions regarding the donation process, please contact Tammy Hancock at thancock [at] oceanleadership [dot] org or 202.448.1229.
Thank you,
President and CEO
